International acclaim

Árpád’s posters achieved success in Hungary but also internationally. His work was famously featured in the monthly magazine The Poster, which was in circulation 1898-1900 and was the first British periodical devoted entirely to poster art.

Around the same time, his advertisement for The Kuhnee Company appeared in the Maitres de l’Affiche series (1895-1900) alongside work from his contemporaries: Jules Chéret (aka father of the modern poster), Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Alphonse Mucha. The series consists of 256 miniature lithographic plates. Collectors and enthusiasts were given the chance to admire and purchase the most exquisite examples of the era in a manageable way.
